Michael McMaude
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. McMaude joined Voyager as Chief Executive Officer in February 2007. Prior to joining Voyager, Mr. McMaude served as COO for TLC Home Health from October 2005 through October 2006. Mr. McMaude founded AccuMed Home Health in 2000. From 2000 to 2005, the company grew from start-up phase to 42 locations in 7 states and more than 1,500 patient admissions per month. Approximately 70 percent of revenue was derived from start-up locations and 30 percent from acquisitions. Prior to founding AccuMed, Mr. McMaude was the President of Amedisys’ home health division from 1998 to 2000. During his tenure with Amedisys, Mr. McMaude grew the home health division from ~$25 million to over $100 million in annual revenues and engineered a dramatic turnaround in profitability. Mr. McMaude also completed acquisitions of more than $80 million in revenue and grew the organization from 20 to over 70 locations. Before joining Amedisys (1992 to 1998), Mr. McMaude held various positions with Columbia HCA, including Division Vice President and Senior Vice President. His responsibilities included overseeing Home Health and Hospice operations in the Central and Western U.S., with responsibility for over 200 locations and $200 million in annual revenues. Mr. McMaude earned a B.B.A. in Business Administration from Hardin-Simmons University, where he is currently a member of the Board of Development.
Matt Posey
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Posey joined Voyager in January 2005. He has over 14 years of experience supporting the healthcare industry in finance/accounting, strategic planning, acquisitions, and operations. Prior to joining Voyager, Mr. Posey was managing partner of consulting services with J. Taylor and Associates, PLLC, a certified public accounting firm specializing in healthcare consulting. He was responsible for, among other things, acquisition due diligence, business plans, and governance issues regarding medical group operations. Before J. Taylor, Mr. Posey served as Operations Controller and then Chief Operating Officer for ProMedCo Management, where he oversaw risk management, budgeting and was involved in all major decisions for this multi-state operator of physician practices. Prior to ProMedCo, Mr. Posey served as Area Administrator for Concentra Managed Care’s largest clinic located in Nevada. Mr. Posey has a B.B.A. in Accounting from Texas Christian University and an M.B.A. from Texas Tech University with an advanced degree in Health Organization Management. Mr. Posey is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
Jay Koeper
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Koeper joined Voyager in March 2006 (after assisting with the acquisition of AmHeart) and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in March 2007. Prior to joining Voyager, Mr. Koeper was President of Protegrity Healthcare Solutions, LLC, a management advisory company specializing in business development and strategic planning for healthcare companies. He was concurrently a Principal of The PentaView Collaborative, where he specialized in hospice facility planning and operations and co-authored “Hospice Inpatient Units in Healthcare Facilities” (a how-to manual and toolkit). A 20-year veteran of healthcare, Mr. Koeper has held senior leadership positions in hospice and home health with VITAS, Living Centers of America, Community Health Partners, and AccentCare. He is a graduate of Brown University with bachelors degrees in Organizational Behavior and Health and Society and holds a masters of science degree in Healthcare Management from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
Robert Steel
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Steel joined Voyager Home Health Care in February 2008 as the division’s COO. Prior to joining Voyager, Mr. Steel worked for TLC as a Regional Vice President. In 2006, Mr. Steel left TLC to start a small home infusion company in Austin, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia, where he continues to serve on the Board of Directors. Previously, Mr. Steel worked for AccuMed Home Health in Austin, Texas. During his time at AccuMed, he assisted in establishing several start-up locations and acquiring small, as well as regional, providers. He initially served as the company’s CFO before moving into the role of COO as the company expanded its management team. While serving as COO, he was responsible for managing over 40 locations in seven states. AccuMed Home Health was sold to TLC in 2005. Prior to joining AccuMed, he spent five years with Olan Mills, Inc. Mr. Steel started his career in Home Care in 1992 with a start-up company called Care Plus Home Health. Mr. Steel earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Alabama and an M.B.A. from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.
